Hey Lions! This week's Lion Voices feature is, Lana Putman. Lana is a senior majoring
in Biology with a concentration in biomedical professions, who proudly represents
her small town of Muse, Oklahoma and her alma mater, Whitesboro High School. On the cusp of graduation, Lana reflected on her time at UAFS, noting the university's
impactful academic and extracurricular experiences.
“My favorite thing about this school is the willingness professors have to help their
students and getting to make meaningful relationships with those professors.”
“I have been fortunate to build great relationships with a few professors, and those
relationships have made my college experience even more enjoyable in the classroom.”
Outside of the classroom, Lana is the senior class representative for the Student
Government Association, where she does her part in trying to make UAFS a better place
for students. She is also a member of a new club for pre-health students.
“You are only in this part of your life once. Don’t let it go to waste by constantly
worrying about school. Learn to enjoy college and life, and it will make everything
else less stressful.”
After graduation, she plans to take everything she has learned at UAFS and bring it
back home. “I want to work for the Choctaw Nation as a physician assistant and give
back to the tribe that has given me so much.”
